Beverly Dale Sobey died at home in Tacoma, WA after a long battle with diabetes. She was born in Bremerton, WA to Delbert Dorothy and Betty Ernst Dorothy Freiwald. Her father was a career soldier and her childhood was spent traveling with her family to various military installations around the world. She lived in Japan and France, traveling all throughout Europe with her family. She graduated from Los Cruses High School in 1961. After graduation she worked for the US Government at White Sand Missile Range and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Beverly volunteered for several years for Pierce County Diabetes Association doing screening tests and other duties. She also volunteered as a docent at Point Defiance Zoo. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She had a wonderful sense of humor always bringing a smile to your face and was a joy to be with. Her passion was amateur geology and caring for her 2 cats. She loved all animals.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Anastasia Herriges and her father Delbert D. Dorothy. Survivors include her children Emery Herriges (Jan) and Ferrol Davis (Shonda); mother Betty J. Freiwald; sister Deborah Corso (Jim); grandchildren James Daniel Herriges, Jenny Kindt, Jasmine Davis, Fred Davis and Jack Davis; great granddaughter Anni Reeves; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Kathy Lorey for her caring friendship and support in her later years.
