Billy Urie

Billy Urie, 79 of  Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on October 15, 2010.  He was born October 22, 1930 in Dallas, Oregon to William & Vera (Morse) Urie.  He married Patricia Ehrman on May 4, 1956 in Port Orchard. Billy retired as an Engineering Technician from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1987.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War attaining the rank of Radioman First Class. Billy was a Ham radio operator for 55 years.  His call letters were W7XV. Surviving are his wife Patricia; daughters Teri Urie of Lacey, WA and Susan (Rick) Johnson of Port Orchard; son Rusty Urie of Seattle, WA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Daniel & Raymond Blair, and sister Afton Blair. Private family services are planned.  The family wants to thank Harrison Medical Center and Hospice Care Center for their kindness at this difficult time.
