Bonnie Boyd was born July 15,1953 to Chester and Gunhild Carlstrom in Duluth, MN. She had four siblings, Dorlene, Carl, Kathy and Karen. She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Boyd who lives in Kentucky and Brenda Kennedy and Andrew Boyd who live in Washington. Bonnie also had three grandchildren that she was close with, Kaylynn, Deja and Devin.
Bonnie grew up in Duluth and then joined the US Navy in March of 1973. She then went on to serve in Connecticut. She discharged from the Navy in July 1977. While living in Connecticut she met Harry Boyd and started a family. Family was very important to her. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was always happy to do whatever she could to help with her grandkids from picking them up from school to spending weekends with them.
Reading was her favorite past time. She was particularly fond of Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Her perfect day would include a good book, a bowl of popcorn and a pot of coffee. Bonnie also enjoyed listening to music in her spare time. Some of her favorite artists wer The Eagles, The Monkeys, Beach Boys and The Beatles. She loved dancing at the Casino when the Spazmatics or Afrodisiacs performed.
In her later years she worked for Clearwater Casino in the environmental services department. She worked for them for over 11years. She would always tell stories about the people she encountered at the casino and her co workers.
A Celebration of Life will be 5-7pm December 26th at the John Horsley Island Lake Community Room.
