Brett Jay Davison was a lifelong resident of Washington State. He was born at Madigan Hospital at Fort Lewis in Tacoma on January 27, 1949 to Staff Sgt. Kenneth and Ruth (LaPointe) Davison. He was the baby of the family. He is survived by his brothers Dwight Davison and Rodney Whitaker and sister Joan Taylor.Brett spent much of his spare time restoring old motorcycles and cars. At various times, he resurrected 4 Indian motorcycles ranging from 1939 to 1948 and a 1941 Harley 3-wheel delivery motorcycle. He loved the freedom of his motorcycle and the highways he cruised. He enjoyed hunting and quad tracking. He was a good friend to many people. He was a talented mechanic and welder. He spent his younger days racing stock cars at the Spanaway ARI Raceway.Brett succumbed as a result of burns received on January 2, 2001 while cutting up an attack submarine, the ex-USS Sculpin, at the Navy Yard in Bremerton, Washington. He battled ferociouslyfor his life at the Harborview Burn Intensive Care Unit in Seattle for 11 very long days. Prayers and good wishes were offered up literally from around the world. Some of the most caring and talented and hard working professionals at Harborview Hospital did their very best for him.But, his heart just couldn't bear the load.He left on Saturday, January 13, 2001.We will always miss him.
