Buddy Knox

Buddy W. Knox, 65 of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on February 14, 1999.  He was born Wayne Knox in Happy, Texas on July 7, 1933 to Henry & Gladys (Sharp) Knox. Buddy was a rockabilly singer and songwriter who hit the top of the charts with 'Party Doll' in the 1950's - a song he wrote at age 13.  His career spanned 35 years with 2 appearances on the Ed sullivan show and 8 Dick Clark appearances. He moved to Port Orchard 2 years ago to live an 'ordinary life' Surviviors include his fiancee, Becky Carpenter of Port Orchard; nine children; and three grandchildren.Inurnment will be in Texas.
