Buford Sicks

Buford H. Sicks, 87, of South Colby, Washington, died at Bremerton Convalescent Center in Bremerton, Washington on March 23, 2002. He was born in Browns Valley, Indiana on May 21, 1914 to Austin & Nellie (Lydle) Sicks. Buford graduated from Waynetown High School in Indiana. He married Pauline Ruth Hinds on October 5, 1934 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She preceded him in death in 1995. Mr. Sicks worked as a U.S. Postmaster for 29 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.Surviving are sons David W. Sicks of Tonasket, Washington and Donald E. Sicks of Brookhaven, Mississippi; sisters Helen Timmons of Darlington, Indiana and Mildred Goode of LaFayette, Indiana; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.No services are planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Port Orchard Fraternal Order of Eagles.
