Cairn Cross Downey

Cairn ''C.C.'' Cross Downey III, 73 of Olympia, Washington died on October 19, 2000 in Olympia. He was born on November 21, 1926 in Long Island, New York to Cairn Cross Downey II and Mary Burton Byrd. C.C. married Jacqueline Davis on February 17, 1956 in Seattle, Washington.Mr. Downey worked for 31 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. He retired in 1986 as an Electronic Mechanic. C.C. also served in the United States Navy during World War II. He loved sports and the outdoors, and was also a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Olympia. Surviving are his wife Jacqueline of Olympia; daughters Leigh Cairn Snyder of Port Orchard and Patricia Viann Downey of Olympia; 2 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.Memorial Service will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Thursday, October 26, 2000 at 2:00pm. Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
