Calvin W. Christie from Port Orchard, Washington passed away in Moscow, Idaho on July 2, 2007 of complications from Alzheimer's. Calvin was born February 17, 1929 in Astoria Oregon and moved with his family to Seattle when he was 5 years old. It was in Seattle that he met and married Mary L. Williams from Port Orchard, on February 14, 1948. He was employed by Northern Pacific Railroad which later became the Burlington Northern, from 1948 to 1991 and had a passion for railroading and his family. He and Mary loved camping & traveling in their RV. Surviving are wife Mary; sons Jerry Christie of Los Angeles California, Stanley (Diane) Christie of Curlew, Washington, Matthew (Sharon) Christie of Stanwood, Washington, Clifford (Terry) Christie of Bovill, Idaho, & James (Tess) Christie of Bellingham, Washington; daughter Nancy (Rick) Rowden of Orting, Washington; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; & numerous nieces & nephews. Graveside service at 12:00 Noon on July 28, 2007 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Potluck dinner follows at Port Orchard Eagles (corner of Jackson & Salmonberry) for a time of sharing memories of Calvin with the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
