Carl H. Helm of Port Orchard, Washington died March 2, 2004 at Life Care of Port Orchard. He was 87. He was born September 30, 1916 in Topeka, Kansas to Adolph and Bertha (Trachsler) Helm. He married Willie D. (Edwards) Helm in Kansas City, Kansas in 1943. Carl graduated from Kansas State University. He served in the U.S. Navy as Lieutenant in Underwater Demolition Team. He worked as a civil engineer for the U.S. Government. Carl was a member of VFW, Shriners and Eagles. Carl loved to cook, play golf, work in the garden, dance, and fish. He "really loved" his cat Lucky. He was Methodist. Carl is survived by his wife - Willie D. Helm of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; nephews - Gary, Charles, Danny, Steve, Richard and Rodney Edwards; nieces - Julie and Kathy; 1 grandson - Don Allen Helm, Jr. He was preceded in death by: son - Don Allen and 3 brothers and 1 sister. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington.
