Carl Albert Munson, 87 of Port Orchard, Washington died on October 15, 2000. The youngest of 3 children, he was born on June 25, 1913 in Rifle, Colorado to Carl A. & Anna H. (Mark) Munson. He graduated from Bremerton Union High School and attended the University of Washington. Carl married Lorraine Davis of Port Orchard in Olympia, Washington on September 23, 1939. They settled on ten acres on Tracyton Road near Silverdale in 1940 where their 3 children were born. In 1949 they moved to Port Orchard, residing on Beach Drive in a home that had a panoramic view of the Olympic Mountains and Sinclair Inlet.Mr. Munson began working as an Apprentice Electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shpyard in Bremerton, at the age of 16. He advanced to Journeyman Electrician in 1936, Planner & Estimator Electrician in 1941, Planning & Estimating Specialist in 1951, Production Controller (Shipbuilding) in 1957, and retired as a Production Controller in May of 1971. Carl also served in the United States Army near the end of World War II.Mr. Munson was a member of Scottish Rite, Bremerton Masonic Lodge #117, Past master Councilor of DelMolay for the Bremerton Chapter, Port Orchard Order of Eastern Star, Port Orchard Yacht Club (Past Commodore), WBCCI Airstream Organization, NARFE in Port Orchard & Olympia Chapters, and the Senior Legislative Hotline in Olympia. He enjoyed boating and traveling by trailer.The loves of his life were his wife, Lorraine, of nearly 59 years who preceded him in death in 1998; son Terry Munson; daughters Virginia Scott and Lynn Hunt; grandchildren Terry Munson, Jr., Michelle Davis, Aaron Hunt, and Carlea Dill; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Earl Munson and sister Ellen Munson.A Memorial Service will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Saturday, October 28, 2000 at 11:00am. Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
