Carl William Price, 69 of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on April 23, 2000 after a long illness. He was born April 26, 1930 in Vienna, West Virginia to G. William & Beulah (Fouts) Price. Carl was raised in Akron, Ohio until age 15 and in the Yakima, Washington area until age 21. He graduated from Toppenish High School in Toppenish, Washington and from the Apprentice Program at Olympic College in Bremerton in the late 1950's. Carl married Dorothy Strange on March 15, 1980 in Poulsbo, Washington.Mr. Price worked for 36 years at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, retiring in 1988 as a Welder. He was also co-owner of Family Florist in Poulsbo in the early 1980's. Carl served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 and for 13 years with the Washington National guard as a Sgt. He was a member of the Sons of Norway in Poulsbo, Eagles in Bremerton, and the National Rifle Association.Surviving are his wife Dorothy; son Robert William Price of Port Orchard; daughters Jacki Lynn Todd of Suquamish, Washington, Lorilei Tucker of Kingsbay, Georgia and Sheri Hornbeck of Port Orchard; brothers Duane Price of Everett, Washington and Don Price of Wenatchee, Washington; sister Phyllis Fadich of Waterville, Washington; grandchildren Jake & Chelana Todd of Suquamish, Jason & Michael Hornbeck of Port Orchard, Chris & Jessica Tucker of Kings Bay, and ''adopted'' granddaughters Rochelle & Crystal Tucker of Kings Bay. Carl was preceded in death in 1979 by his previous wife of 25 years, Mary Ruth Kaster.A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday April 27, 2000 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Private family interment at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.
