Carol Jean Giertz

Carol Jean Giertz, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2017. She was born on November 19, 1945, in Bremerton to Mike and Hattie Stimac and was the oldest of two children. She was a 1963 graduate of North Mason High School.

Carol was a pillar of the community. She owned and operated CJ’s Hair Design for over 40 years. She was involved in PTA, Fathom's O Fun, Eagles, volunteering at the Pantry and the Bay Street Association of which she was treasurer for many years. Carol was also voted "Woman of the Year" by the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce in 1997.

Carol will be remembered for the love and help she gave to many members of her community, friends and family. She loved Neil Diamond music almost as much as she loved gardening and anything flower related.

Left to honor Carol and remember her love are Carol's mother, Hattie Stimac, her brother, Mike (Jann) Stimac, her two children, Frank Riedle and Sarah (Scott) Kaelberer; two grandchildren; Kevin Peterson and Spencer Kaelberer; and niece and many nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her father, Mike Stimac.
