Born in New York City, New York on June 8, 1951 to Elizabeth Farley and Glen Montgomery. Raised in Scarsdale, New York where she attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish School. She graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1968.
She graduated from Texas Womens University in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and earned her Master’s Degree from Phoenix University in Education.
She married Jack Leininger in 1975. They moved to Kansas City Missouri where she began her career teaching in public schools. In 1981. They moved to Manchester Washington. She taught as substitute teacher in Kitsap county school districts until joining the Bremerton school district in 1983. She retired in 2010. Most of her years teaching were spent with what is now called “Children with Special Needs” at the Jr. High age level. She was active in the
organization and development of Washington State standardized testing.
She was active in Manchester Community Organizations and was instrumental in the development of Quaquad Water Treatment Park in Manchester.
Her favorite activities (outside of dealing with her students) were attending her families music and sports events. She was an avid boater and loved boating vacations in Puget Sound. Taking cruises to selected spots around the world was her favorite retired activity. She was very proud of her three children, sons J.C. retired as a Navy Senior Chief. Sean, is employed by Amazon Corp as a Network Engineer. Her daughter Charlene works for the State of Alaska.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years Jack Leininger, two sisters Joan & Greg Bradt and Gail & Chip Entringer; her three children JC & Shelby Leininger; Sean & Corina Margineanu; Charlene &Greg Bringhurst; and six grandchildren Charlotte, Ethan, Eleanor, Patrick, Maxine and Hope.
