Celia Wiens

Celia Wiens, of Port Orchard, passed away on 8/9/2012. She was born in Wilmington, NC, on 4/28/32 to Charles and Margaret Vaughan. Celia moved to Oregon as a teen, where she met her future husband, Paul Wiens. They were married on July 28, 1949.  They lived in Dallas, OR for many years, later retiring in Salem. After Paul died in 2008, Celia moved to Port Orchard. She worked as a hairdresser and kindergarten teacher, but spent most of her time as a homemaker. Few visitors ever left her house without a piece of pie or some home-canned fruit, and every baby in the family has a cozy blanket made by Celia. She is survived by sisters Ann Wiens and Marie Sullivan of Salem, OR, brother John Manitsas of Newberg, OR, brother Pete Manitsas of  Pylesville, MD, son Charles Wiens (Megan) of Portland, OR, daughter Judy Bishop (Ron) of Port Orchard, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date in Salem, OR.
