Charles J. "Bergie" Berglund, 82 of Port Orchard, Washington died May 30, 2007. He was born June 1, 1924 in Hawley Minnesota. He graduated from Enderlin High in Enderlin, North Dakota in 1942 & married Glory Lindemann on June 8, 1947 in Lucca, North Dakota. Bergie retired as a Machinist at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. After his retirement, he worked for 5 years as a Highway Flagger. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from May 1943 to February 1946 in Burma & China with Merril's Mauraders. Bergie enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, camping, motorhome traveling, and high school football and basketball. He loved every dog and cat he ever had, but especially his boxer "Brutus". He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Surviving are his wife Glory; son Terry (Sue) Berglund of Sedro Woolley, Washington; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandhcildren; and sister-in-laws May Berglund and Laurine Berglund, both of Enderlin, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by brothers Bernhard, Arvid & John Berglund. Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
