Charles ''Charlie'' Ross

Charles A. ''Charlie'' Ross, 61, of Olalla, WA, died October 13, 2001, at the Naval Hospital in Bremerton, WA, of cancer.Charlie was born December 18, 1939, in Mobile, AL, to Charles and Maude (Hardin) Ross. He married Violet M. (Lowrey) Ross on December 6, 1968, in Winterhaven, CA.Charlie retired as a Master Chief Torpedoman after serving 22 years in the United States Navy in Submarine Services. He enjoyed gold mining and belonged to the Lost Dutchman Mine Association and the American Legion in Bremerton, WA.Survivors include his wife, Violet Ross, of Olalla; step father, Bill Brown, of Cumming, GA; step son, Greg Kaercher, of Shelton, WA; daughter, Pam Miller, of Florida; brothers, Bob Ross of Astoria, OR, and Cary Hayes, of Taylorsville, GA; and sisters, June Miller, of Alpharetta, GA, and Mary Autry, of Taylorsville, GA.Memorial donations may be made to the Military Order of the Cooties Hospital Fund, Attn: CCDB, 736 Bay Street, Port Orchard, WA, 98366.
