Charles Rudolph Davis, 77, of Keyport died peacefully on December 3, 2006 of End Stage Renal Disease after a long illness. He was born in Atascdero, California to Canadian parents, Frederick Clarence & Marjorie Augusta (Ward) Davis. He grew up in British Columbia, graduating from Duncan High School. Having dual citizenship, Charlie decided to join the U.S. Navy. He served his Country during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired as a Chief Fire Control Technician in 1969. Shortly thereafter, he joined what is now the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport. He retired in 1993 after 25 years of service. After this retirement, he started another career as a school bus driver for North Kitsap School District where he drove handicapped children to and from school. In 1998, open heart surgery finally made him decide to retire permanently. Charlie started dialysis on December 31, 2001. He is survived by his wife (Trish of 17 years; ex-wife Mardy; daughters Averil Story, Lauriann Atlee, and Dianna Cox; son Charles Daniel Davis; stepchildren David Hodges, Chad Hodges and Suzanne O?Connell; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Clarence and sister Fredericka (Freddie). At his request, there will be no memorial service.
