Charles Jesch

August 19, 1939 — June 19, 2021

On 6-19-21 Charles Jesch passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep at his home in Port Orchard. He was born on 8-19-1939 in Live Oak, California.

He met and married Karen Waterman (d. 1977) in 1967 and they had two children together, Mike Jesch and Mark Jesch.

He taught metallurgy at Lane Community College in Eugene and then furthered his education with a degree from Oregon Institute of Technology. In 1973 he moved to Port Orchard where he taught machine shop, math, and drafting for 20+ years. He touched many lives with his hard nosed rule of the classroom and insistence on learning the trade and safety. He had an incredible work ethic towards life and his rentals.

He married Karen Boedecker in 1979 and together they had one child, Nicholas Jesch. He later married Betty Clarke in 1988. They were happily married for over 30 years. They enjoyed spending time with their families, playing cards and traveling to casinos.

Chuck enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on his rental houses, and teaching valuable skills to his sons. He also enjoyed cribbage, poker and pinochle.

He had many memorable hunting trips including shooting prairie dogs in Montana, numerous duck and upland birds hunts, a few trips to Africa, as well as many local deer and elk hunts all over the northwest.

He was very generous. He would give you the shirt off his back, just don’t take it!! He helped all of his kids throughout life. He was very proud of his rentals and all of the students who went into PSNS.

He is survived by his wife Betty, 3 sons, Mike, Mark and Nick, 6 step children, Steve, Alan, Sue, Bruce Gregg and Joel, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
