Charles R Johnston Iii

November 22, 1952 — November 14, 2021

Charles R. Johnston III was known to all his friends as Chuck – and never call him Charlie!

He was born in Florida but traveled all over the United States as a child. Chuck served nine years in the US Air Force… but he hated flying unless he could be the pilot! Due to Chuck’s long illness, he had been homebound, but his favorite way of getting around was on a motorcycle. He loved the desert, photography, a wide range of music, “country and western,” archery, and going to the shooting range. But Chuck loved his family most of all and spending time with his wife and his step-daughters was his idea of heaven.
Sadly, he went there for real – way too soon, so he will have to wait awhile until the rest of us join him there.

Chuck was preceded in death by both of his parents and his special old buddy, Gomez – a dachshund and his constant companion for fifteen years.

Chuck is survived by wife, Andrea; his brother, Steven (wife Sandy); the stepdaughters he loved like his own, Heather (Jon) and Jeanne (Justin). Chuck will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Melanie (Larry), Jane, brothers-in-law Bruce (Lisa), Stephen, and too many of their kids and grand kids to list, but he loved having them in his life. He will also be missed by his tiny three-legged Lorax, who is lost without him. We all know how he feels.

Instead of flowers please donate in his name to The Kitsap Humane Society There will be a casual family get-together in the near future to honor him.
