Charles E. Chuck" Knox of Port Orchard, Washington died of cancer peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones February 4, 2006. He was 79. Charles was born July 28, 1926 in Buhl, Idaho to Everett and Eula (Goode) Knox. He married Olive (Bakken) Knox November 27, 1943 in Bremerton, Washington. Charles graduated from Bremerton High School in Bremerton, Washington in 1944. He served as Seaman First Class (E-3) in the U.S. Navy from 1944 - 1946. He worked 30 years in auto body repair at the Highway Garage in Gorst - retiring in 1982. Chuck did frame straightening, paint preparation and painting, dent repair. He also worked in highway construction - road crew, preparing for striping. Chuck was an arm-chair quarterback; loved watching all sports. He is survived by his wife - Olive Knox (Bakken) of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; mother - Eula Sorensen of Boise, Idaho; daughters - Linda Craig (Don) of Shelton, WA., Barbara Lysne (Merle) of Covington, WA., Cheryl Wenner and Renae Ward (Ron) - both of Port Orchard, WA.; brother - Robert Knox (Mary Ann) of Bear Lake, MN; sister - Sue Badger (Chuck) of Encinitas, CA; 5 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister - Alyce E. Stetson. Family and friends will hold a gathering at the family home Saturday, February 11, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Charity of your choice.
