Charles Kruse

Charles William Kruse, 84 of Retsil, died November 29, 2008 in Bremerton.  He was born September 2, 1924 in Hibbing Minnesota to Peter John and May (Phelps) Kruse.  He graduated from Hibbing High School in 1943.  He married Valeria Fisher in 1963. Chuck worked at various jobs throughout his life such as firefighter in Richland, WA, commercial fisherman and evergreen worker.  He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. Chuck was a devout Catholic.  He enjoyed bingo, watching golf, horse racing, & western movies.  He especially enjoyed the art of a friendly conversation with friends and family and was happiest surrounded by his family & grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Valeria Kruse, his parents, sister Mildred, brothers Earl, Harold, Raymond & Kenny, and numerous other family members.  Surviving are stepdaughter Darlene Anderson of Olalla; stepson James Fisher of Gig Harbor; sister Cecilia Tate of Port Orchard; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Graveside service and inurnment at 3:30pm on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Fraola Cemetery in Olalla.  Online memorial and guestbook at www.rill.com
