Charlton Edward Reifel born to Harry Charles Reifel and Agnes Catherine Humig Reifel on May 25, 1923 in Idianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Cathederal High School in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1941. He also graduated from Oregon State of Corvallis, Oregon in 1948.Charlton served from 1942 to 1945 in the U.S. Army Air Corps (during WWII he achieved rank of corporal). He worked as Bombsight Mechanic during WWI.He worked as an engineer with Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, Washington for 30 years - retiring in 1988.He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Seattle and St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, Washington.He was married to Julia Margaret Barry of Lakeview, Oregon, on September 9, 1944. He worked for RCA in Indianapolis, Indiana, after he returned from the service. He is a life-time member of Knights of Columbus. His interests were in fishing, serving as the Boy Scout Master for troop 126 in Indianapolis; a Teen Club Adviser and after moving to Seattle in 1963 to work and retire from the Boeing Company he served as the president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society - St. Catherine Chapter. His most treasured award was given him by the Bishop of Seattle for his dedication to youth through the Boy Scouts of America. He is the loving father of 7 children: Michael (& wife, Julie) of Silverton, Oregon; Chuck, of Everett, Washington; Peter (& wife, Linda)of Klamath Falls, Oregon; Nick (& wife, Debbie) of Auburn, Washington; Barry (& wife, Ellen) of Yakima, Washington; John of Everett, Washington and Mary Reifel, of Belfair, Washington. Charlie has 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is survived by one sister, Harriet Bohrman of Columbia, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents.A Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena, Seattle Wednesday June 18, 2003, at 9:00 a.m.Interment will be held at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.
