Chester John Wilder Sr., 80, or as he was so well known by his family and friends as, "Jay," passed away on June 21, 2022 in Port Orchard, Washington.
Jay was born on June 21, 1942 to Alfred and Jean Wilder in the home in Belfair, Washington. Jay celebrated 52 years of belonging to the Western Washington Laborers Union, Local 252 Bremerton, WA. A lifelong accomplishment that he took great pride in. He became a master in, but not limited to, carpentry, concrete, dirt work, road building and plumbing; among others. Jay was a member that always gave 120% and was respected by every crew he worked alongside. His interests also included mechanics, he loved working on cars, and never missed an opportunity to lend a hand and open his garage.
Jay is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tina Wilder; his son, Chester J. Wilder Jr. "CJ" (Julie); his stepdaughter, Amber N. Smith;, five grandchildren, Evan Wilder, Faith Wilder, Carter Smith, Madalyn Smith and Alva Torgals; numerous nieces and nephews along with two half brothers, Raymond Wilder and Lee Pickle. Nothing was more important to Jay than his family, he loved them all very much. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Wilder; mother, Jean Pickle; brothers, Alfred Wilder, Danny Wilder, Mike Wilder and Frank Wilder; and his sisters, Judy Rose, Connie Duglosh, and Karen Koeller.
You are all invited to join us in a celebration of his life on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. There will be a reception following the service. Everyone who attends the celebration of life is encouraged to write a memory, poem, or prayer to be shared. If you are unable to read yourself, we have someone to share your words at the service. :)
