Christopher Guy Secor, 43, of Port Orchard died Dec. 14, 1999 in Port Orchard. He was born Sept. 11, 1956, in Longview to William and Vella (Wise) Secor. He grew up in Kelso, graduating from Kelso High School. Mr. Secor graduated from Lower Columbia College in Longview and from The Ocean Corporation (diving school) in Houston. He served in the Army from 1974 to 1978, attending noncommissioned officer's school and jump school. He was a Green Beret, a sergeant and a sky diver (Airborne Ranger). He retired from the Army because of a disability.Mr. Secor worked 10 years as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He also had been a professional diver and underwater medic for two years. He coached his son's soccer team for four years and his baseball team for two years. He also had coached his daughter's softball team for seven years, going to state competition each year and to national competition for two years.Survivors include his mother; one son, Andrew of Port Orchard; one daughter, Maggy of Port Orchard; one brother, Gary of Sedro Wooley; three sisters, Ruby Nail, Debra Parks, and Janet, all of Kelso; his grandparents, Guy and Naomi Wise and William and Ruby Secor. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother William; and a sister, Mary. Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Pendleton Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m Tuesday, also at Rill Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Cowlitz View Memorial Park in Kelso.
