Claire Horch

Claire Jergensen Horch, 76 of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on March 18, 2000.  She was born September 16, 1923 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Eli Moroni & Mary Alberta (Orme) Jergensen. Claire graduated from the University of Idaho in 1948 where she met her future husband.  She married Alfred Henry Horch in the Idaho Falls Idaho LDS Temple.  Alfred preceded her in death.Mrs. Horch taught Home Economics Education classes during her early married years.  As a homemaker and mother she was involved in many church and community activities including serving as teacher, president, and organist in both church youth and adult organizations.Surviving are daughters Jolene Bodily of Charlottesville, Virginia, Susan Mortensen of Layton, Utah and Beverly Taylor of Vista, California; sons Brian of Port Orchard and David of Wilsonville, Oregon; 24 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.Visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2000 at 10:30am at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.  A graveside service follows at 11:30am at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton.  Memorial Service at 2:00pm Friday at the LDS Church on Hoover Road in Port Orchard.
