Clarence "Sandy" Nelson, Jr. died at his Port Orchard, Washington residence May 31, 2003. He was 60.He was born March 28, 1943 in Seattle, Washington to Clarence Nelson, Sr. and Audrey (Bruce) Nelson.Clarence married Janet (Merrit) Nelson August 19, 1983 in Tacoma, Washington.He worked as a Steamfitter and Pipefitter with various companys in Washington for over thirty years."Sandy" enjoyed bowling and was a former girls' softball coach.He is survived by his wife Janet (Merrit) Nelson of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; sons - Doug Nelson of Vashon Island, WA., Kevin Nelson of Washington, James Efird of Battleground, WA.; daughters - Chris Rogers of Texas, Cherri Nelson of Auburn, WA., Diana Stanley of Vashon Island, WA.; brother - Bill Nelson of Arizona; sisters - Melinda Floyd of Purdy, WA., Terri of Port Townsend, WA., Betty of Renton, WA., 7 grandchildren (Justin Rogers, Mitchell Stanley, Reva Rogers, Kaliena Stanley, Anne Marie Maxon, Lance Rogers and Jovan Maxon).He was preceded in death by his daughter - Kathy Nelson.A private service will be held.
