Mr. Clifford F. Watson, Age: 59, resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died of cancer on December 20, 2001 at Naval Regional Hospital, Bremerton.Clifford had been born on August 23, 1942 in Port Orchard, to Curtis and Agnes(Cornwell)Watson.He graduated from South Kitsap High School, Port Orchard, in 1960. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 until 1980. He achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer, E-7, prior to his honorable discharge. On February 5, 1972, Clifford married Marie Hurst in Reno, Nevada.Following his naval career he worked for eight years for Vitro Laboratories as an Engineer. He retired in 1988.Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Marie, of the family home; sons, Gary, James and Steven Watson, and William and Wayne Trask, all of Port Orchard; daughters, Melanie Auclair of Florida; Mary Olson and Diane Estes of Port Orchard; brothers, Curtis Watson of Port Orchard, and Warren Watson of Bremerton; sister, Frances Cross of Port Orchard; fourteen grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews.A funeral service in his honor will be held on Monday, December 31, 2001, at 1:30 p.m., at Rill Chapel. Reverend Larry Mead will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. A reception will be held at the Rill Chapel Hospitality Room.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
