January 15, 1930 — November 14, 2017

Loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Golfer Extraordinaire. Born in Fort Dodge, Iowa and moved to Washington State as a teenager where she lived until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) M. Demko in February of 2005. As a Mother, she raised four children, James M. Demko, Jr. of Bellingham, WA, Jacqueline Lee (Demko) Horton of Ocean Shores, WA, Shawn T. Demko of Belfair, WA and Nikki Johnson of Tacoma, WA. She is survived by all 4 children, 2 brothers, Tom Collins of Tacoma and Kelly Collins of Tumwater, WA., and her grandchildren, Brian Zuarri, Jonathan Fesler, Mikaela and Lauren Johnson and Liam Demko.

Married for over 55 years to the love of her life, Jim, they traveled around the world together including England, Scotland, Whales, Spain, Africa, many trips to Mexico and wonderful cruises. They took up golf together after retirement and this became a huge part of their life. After her husband’s passing in 2005 she continued to golf and became a Member of Highlands Golf Course in Tacoma, WA where she went on to win trophies in tournaments and hit a least 2 holes in one. Her last hole in one took place in October of this year at the age of 87!

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Bremerton, WA from its inception in 1965 until they moved to Tacoma in 2003. Jim and Colleen were also members of the Bremerton Elks Club where they went almost every weekend to join friends for a good meal and to dance the night away. Finally they can dance together again.
