Cora Johnson

Cora Loren Johnson died October 26, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. She was 87. She was born July 1, 1916 in Port Orchard, Washington to William and Louise (Crouch) McPherson. She married Emerald Johnson March of 1936 in Shelton, Washington. Cora graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington. She worked at the Washington Veterans Home at Retsil as a food service worker. Cora enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening. Cora is survived by her son - Gordon Johnson (& wife, Patricia) of Port Orchard, Washington; daughter - Lorna Jacobsen (& husband, Bill) of Bremerton, Washington; sister - Louise Pedersen of Bremerton, Washington; 10 grandchildren (Brenda Sullivan, Billy Jacobsen, Erick Jacobsen, Gordon W. Johnson, Lori Bowe, Susan Marrett, April McCade, Alex Johnson, David Johnson, and Tammy Gelineau); 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son - Alex Johnson. A graveside service was held Thursday, October 30, 2003 at 12:00 noon at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington. A memorial service was held Thursday, October 30, 2003, at 1:00 p.m at South Colby United Methodist Church in Port Orchard.
