Curtis Mcgilvrey

October 20, 1946 — June 13, 2012

Curtis Alan “Mac” McGilvrey, 65 of Tahuya, WA, died in Bremerton on June 13, 2012.  He was born October 20, 1946 in Van Nuys, CA to Robert & Grayce (Meyers) McGilvrey.   He graduated from Kitsap High and Welding Trade school in 1965.  Curtis worked at many of the shipyards in the area including Lockheed, Nicholson, Lawrence & Pac Car, retiring in 2002 from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Welder.  He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as SGT Linesman.  Curtis enjoyed fishing, boating, water skiing, snow skiing at Crystal Mountain, road cruising in the ’65 convertible, the Vulcan motorcycle, trail riding the bikes, and a bit of gardening.  He loved his family and friends who will miss him dearly.  Surviving are life partner Beverly, son Brian; daughter Shanan, grandchildren Forrest, Kathrine & Dean; brothers  Howard, Roger, Robert, Morris; and sister Teresa.  Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
