Dale Kenneth Wonders, 47, of Trails End Lake/Belfair, WA, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Friday March 21, 2003, in West Covina, CA, at the home of his Great Aunt Dee Wonders. Dale and his sister Lori were visiting Dale's namesake, their Great Uncle Dale Eugene Wonders and 2nd cousins Brock and Deana Wonders of Glendora, CA, and Mickey McFadden of Arcadia, CA.Dale was born June 2, 1955, in Seattle, WA, to William Leo Wonders and Shirley (Tarbox) Wonders. William preceded him in death at the age of 46, in 1982.Dale attended South Kitsap High School, Bellevue Community College, and PGA Business School. He is well known in golfing circles, having worked with his stepfather first, picking up the golf range at Village Greens, next at Rolling Hills and then at Lakeland Village. Dale's career as a Golf Professional included assistant at Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, OR, Assistant at Tam O'Shanter Golf and Country Club in Bellevue, WA, Head Professional at Madrona Links Golf Course in Gig Harbor, WA, and Assistant at Lake Spanaway Golf Course in Spanaway, WA, and then at McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, WA. Dale was a good player and in the early 80's made the Hogan Cup Team. He was the manager of Home Lending Corporation in Bremerton and when that office closed Dale again went to work in the golf business, this time at Bayshore Golf Course in Shelton, WA, working on the outside in golf course maintenance.Dale had many pool-playing buddies and golfing buddies who will miss him and he will be deeply missed by his family. Dale attended Belfair Community Baptist Church.Dale is survived by two sons, Andrew Wonders, age 16 and Taylor Meek, age 10; his mother Shirley Taylor and stepfather Ernie Taylor, of Allyn, WA; sister Lori Hamilton-Voller to whom he was a "Big Brother" and her husband Lonnie, of Spanaway, WA; half-sister Michele Taylor-Henry, of Puyallup, WA; stepbrother Ernie Taylor, Jr, and his wife Paula, of Bellevue, WA; stepsisters Laura Taylor-Jensen and her husband Jay, of Monroe, WA, and Victoria Napoleone and her husband Eric, of Bulleen, Australia; Uncle Chuck Tarbox and his wife Vicki of Sun City Grand, Surprise, AZ; step uncles Woodie Hall and his wife Debbie, of Allyn, WA, and Michael Hall and his wife Eleanor, of Woodinville, WA; step grandmother June Taylor, of Seattle, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Washington, Oregon, California and Texas.A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003, 1:00PM at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center, 1151 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard, WA.
