Daniel B. Benavidez, 27, of Port Orchard, WA, died July 22, 2002, in Port Orchard of injuries received from a car accident.Dan was born December 6, 1974, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Jose and Irma (Delgado) Benavidez. He attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard where he lettered in football and wrestling.Dan married Amanda (Newman) Benavidez on July 1, 1995, in Port Orchard. Dan worked as a plumber.He enjoyed working on and driving cars, listening to loud music, and spending time with his family. Dan was a Black Belt of Spirit Force Karate. He also was known for always having a smile.Dan is survived by his wife, Amanda Benavidez, of Port Orchard; 7 year old son Quincy, of Port Orchard; 5 year old daughter Keiara, of Port Orchard; his parents Jose and Irma Benavidez, of Port Orchard; siblings, Dorothy Benavidez, of Escondido, CA, Enrique Benavidez, of Bremerton, WA; Thelma Day, of Port Orchard, and Hope Benavidez, of Bremerton; grandfather Daniel Benavidez, of Corpus Christi, TX; and godparents, Dora and Ed Cantu, of Port Orchard. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents Juanita Delgado, Candelario Delgado, and Alicia Benavidez.Viewing will be Friday, July 26, from 12 Noon to 5:00PM and Saturday, July 27, from 9:00AM to 12 Noon at Rill Chapel. A Rosary will be said at 3:00PM on Friday at Rill Chapel. A Mass will be held Monday, July 29, 11:00AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard with burial following at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
