Daniel L. Chowning, 44, died at his home in Bremerton, Washington on July 12, 2000. He was born on February 24, 1956 in San Diego, California to Edwin & Doris (Fullerton)Chowning. Daniel graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1974 and attended Olympic College in Bremerton. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1978 as an Electricians Mate Second Class. Daniel enjoyed reading books.Surviving are his companion Kathy Kisska; parents Edwin & Marsha Chowning of Port Orchard, brothers Eldon of Wenatchee, Bryan of Poway, California, and James VanCleef of Port Orchard; sisters Sylvia Collis of Port Orchard and Mary (VanCleef) Howisey of Everett, Washington. He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Chowning in 1971.A memorial service will be held at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Port Orchard on Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at 7:00 pm. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington at 12:30pm on Friday, Thursday, July 19th.
