Darrell Bruce McLean, 52 of Bremerton, died December 13, 2009. He was born February 18, 1957 in Onaway, Michigan to Robert & Kaye (Kesselring) McLean. He graduated from Onaway High School in 1975 and completed an apprenticeship for Marine Machinist at Todd's Shipyard in 1983. Darrell worked for 30 years as a Marine Machinist spending 25 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and 5 years at Todd's Shipyard. He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979 as a Machinist Mate on the USS Thomaston. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping & deer hunting. Surviving are companion Collette Hill of Bremerton; daughters Kelsey McLean of Arlington, Virginia and Kerry McLean of Port Orchard; mother Kaye McLean of Essexville, Michigan; 7 siblings and their spouses, all of Michigan; stepmother Della Price & half sister Linda (Price) Walters, both of Sitka, Alaska; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Lindsey Ann McLean (March 12, 1985 to May 31, 2004). Celebration of Life service will be at 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
