Darwin "Andy" Lee Anderson

October 10, 1934 — December 18, 2017

Darwin Lee Anderson (Andy), 83, Port Orchard, passed away at his home Monday December 18, 2017 surrounded by family after a long illness. He was born October 10, 1934 to Andrew Daniel and Ruby (Kingsford) Anderson. He had 5 children with previous wife Beverly: Rodney Anderson, Ricky Anderson, Marletta Gerrard (Bob) of Green River WY, Tim Anderson (Maribel) of Charleston SC, and Betty Lyn Bonilla (Eddie) of Spokane WA. He met Marilyn Walton and they married December 9, 1975 and became “step dad” to her 6 children: Marlene Wilson (Merlin) of Blackfoot ID, Annette Cook of Port Orchard WA, Kathy Rowbury (Craig) of Tetonia ID, Clyde Walton (Tonya) of Weston ID, Sherrie Parris (Earl) of Port Orchard WA, and Clenna Smith (Troy) of Hulbert OK. Darwin and Marilyn have 35 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Darwin served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

Darwin worked as a butcher, and machinist. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he and Marilyn completed a Service Mission at Zion’s Camp and for several years worked countless hours volunteering at the Seattle WA Temple. He loved dancing, bowling, boating, fishing, hunting and traveling to visit with family He played the harmonica and mandolin.

Darwin is survived by 8 children, 35 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, sister Joyce Jensen of Kennewick WA and sister Sharon Wade (Bob) of Sunnyside WA.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his parents, sister Lola Penoyer, brother Dennis Anderson, brother Ronald Anderson, sons Ricky Anderson and Rodney Anderson, daughter Marlene Wilson, son-in-law Merlin Wilson and son-in-law Earl Parris.

He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
