David Libby

David Allen Libby died May 25, 2002 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, WA. following a battle with lung cancer.He was born in Bangor, ME. December 8, 1935 to Levi and Bertha (Vintinner) Libby.He attended school in Maine and graduated in 1952.David married Beverly (Rhodes) Libby. They have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.He enjoyed a hobby car collection (Matchbox) and anything to do with light houses. He was Supervisor of Maintenance for the City of Port Orchard, WA. for 23 years and retired December 2001. He was an Episcopalian ordained minister and practiced non-denominationally.David is survived by wife Beverly (Rhodes) Libby, Sons David Allen Libby, Jr. of Waterboro, ME., Dana Sean Libby of Biddeford, ME., daughters Stephanie Livengood of Port Orchard, WA., Martha Childress of Port Orchard, WA., Carol Lee Libby of St. Jude, Missouri, brothers Robert Libby of Norridgewock, ME., Edward Libby of Pownal, ME., Raymond Libby of Augusta, ME., sisters Edith Wood of Winthrop, ME., Patricia Sweeney of Livermore, ME., and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister and his parents.Memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 1:00 p.m.
