David was born to Arthur Alexander Chisholm and Florence Belle Forbush in Smith Valley, Nevada December 24, 1935 and left us with his family by his side on March 25, 2024 one week to the day after loosing his wife of 62 years.
Marilyn Jean DelPorto Chisholm was born to Dan DelPorto and Rose Bachman in Hawthorne, Nevada December 08, 2024 and left us with her family present on March 18, 2024
David lived a ranchers life, graduated from Smith Valley High School, went on to join the Army and was stationed in Korea as a Military Police Officer.
Marilyn was born in Hawthorne NV, relocated to Yerington NV, where she graduated from Yerington High School in 1959 and went on to study Nursing where she would become a LPN.
They meet in 1962 and wed on January 20, 1963. David worked for the Navy at the Hawthorne Ammunition Depot and Marilyn got a job as a Nurse at a local Clinic. They resided in Babbitt NV, and soon purchased their second home to raise their family in Hawthorne NV. In 1977 they moved their family to Bremerton WA, where David was offered a job at Puget Sound Naval Ship Yard where he would go on to retire with 30 years of experience. In 1978 they purchased their forever home in Silverdale WA, where they lived till their passing. Marilyn, a devoted mother and wife went on to work for the city of Winslow before becoming a full-time mother raising their children David Jr, Jackie (Deceased), Michael and Steven (Deceased).
They attended Holy Trinity Church where David would become an Usher and a devoted member of the Knight's of Columbus, as Grand Knight and Marilyn dedicated her time participating in the Woman's Guild. They both were members of the Sons of Italy where Marilyn was known for her salads, desserts and little Birthday surprises with special thinking of you cards and phone calls expressing her love. Marilyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sharing her experiences she gained over her lifetime. David was an Outdoor Sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and sports activities as an Umpire in his younger years. After moving to Washington they devoted their time helping organization's, participating in Steak Fry's, Roadside rest stops serving Food and drinks gathering donations for these organizations Selflessly.
They both enjoyed the simple things in life. Especially the peace that the Sunrises and Sunsets gave them through their bay window, sitting in their recliners enjoying the color palette of Pacfic Northwest during wintertime, wood burning in the fireplace, and Moms voice saying the girls got their Sunday dresses on describing the snow covered Mountains, she'd laugh and smile in amazement and Dad would smile at her. Their extraordinary life and love concludes there after, when Dad followed Mom a week later. Their love is forever ingrained in those who knew them and captured in every Sunrise and Sunset we see. Love is everlasting.
David was preceded in Death by his parents Arthur and Florence Chisholm, Brother's Harold and Dwayne Chisholm, Sister Edith Chisholm
Survived by his Brother Arthur Chisholm, son's David and Michael Chisholm along with many Nieces and Nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in Death by her parents Dan and Rose DelPorto, Brother Daniel DelPorto, Sister Ellen Waggoner, Daughter Jackie Chisholm, Son Steven Chisholm and Granddaughter Alexandria Fernandez Chisholm
Survived by Sons David and Michael Chisholm, Her Brother Frank DelPorto, Brother Tom and wife Sarah Delporto, Brother John and wife Christine DelPorto along with numerous Nephews and Nieces.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Friday May 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM
