David Soyat, age 77, died March 10, 1999 in Manchester, WA. He was born September 9, 1921 in Sedro Wooley, WA., to Anthony and Victoria Soyat. As a young child his family moved to Manchester where he was raised. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1939 and from the University of Washington Business and Economics school in 1949. From 1942-1969 he was in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator. He fought in World War II and the Korean War. After serving for 27 years, in 1969 he retired from the U.S. Navy as a Commander. He was a member of the University of Washington Alumni Association and the Retired Officers Association. He is survived by his sons Jeffrey Soyat of Duvall, WA., Dana Soyat of Port Orchard, WA., daughters Lisa Clark of Manchester, WA., stepdaughters Rita Gardner of Newbury, England, Ingrid Lynch of Redmond, WA., brother Mark Soyat of Port Orchard, WA., sisters Mary Soyat of Tacoma, WA., Toni Allen of Bellingham, WA., 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
