Dean Carter

May 7, 1938 — July 2, 2007

Dean M. Carter, 69, a resident of Port Orchard, died at his home on July second from heart failure. Dean was born in Bremerton in 1938 to Melvin and Mary (Rossi) Carter. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1956, After high school, he served in the National Guard from 1957 to 1965 achieving the rank of Sergeant. Dean went to work for Shop 71 Painters at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and in two years went to Design as an Engineering Technician from where he retired. He enjoyed fishing and clamming. Dean is survived by his son Frank (Sharree) Carter of Burien, Washington; brother Jack M. Carter of Port Orchard, Washington; sisters Jeanne (Bob) Moore of Gresham, Oregon and Arlene (Wilbur) Bruce of Carmichael, California.
