Dean Rappleye

Dean Rappleye Of Port Orchard   Oct 8, 1922 to Jul 12, 2008   Dean E. Rappleye, 85, passed away on July 12th, 2008.  He was born in Cowley Wyoming to Roy Rappleye and Jean Slade.   He grew up in Bremerton and during the great depression he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp. Dean married Mary Berg of Mount Vernon in 1945.  In 1949 they moved to Port Orchard where they have lived ever since. Dean was a meat cutter in the Bremerton area for 46 years.  He was the president of the Port Orchard Eagles and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served as Bishop of the Port Orchard First Ward. Dean had many hobbies, he loved to sing and was a beautiful tenor; he loved fishing, camping, bird watching and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed making clocks and neat things out of wood.  Dean is survived by his wife Mary Rappleye of 65 years; daughters Lynda Ferguson of Belfair, Robin & Gene Grace of Keyport; son Scott and Becky Rappleye of Port Orchard; 10 grandchildren Jody Venglar, Kaci Wood, Jason Rogers, Darby Wallace, Michael Paquette, Kelsy Matteson, Joshua Paquette, Harley Grace, Troy Rappleye and Carrie Rappleye; 16 great grandchildren;  cousin Lee Fraychineaud and many other wonderful friends and family.   He was preceded in death by his two brothers Harry Rappleye & Greg Stevens.   Services for Dean Rappleye will be held on Wednesday July 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: 1550 Hoover Ave. Port Orchard WA.
