Delia Ortiz Hoyte died in an auto accident December 23, 2002 in Benson, Arizona. She was 34.She was born November 12, 1968 in Big Spring, Texas to Jesus and Guadalupe (Garcia) Ortiz.Delia graduated from Big Spring High School of Big Spring, Texas in 1986. She also graduated from Howard County Jr. College of Big Spring, Texas and Olympic College of Bremerton, Washington. She attended the University of Washington.She was employed in education - teacher of Spanish in foreign language for youth at Cougar Valley Elementary - North Kitsap - Brownsville Elementary in Brownsville. She also worked for Moore Development Center in Big Spring, Texas and as an assistant for Port Orchard Daycare Center. She worked a total of 4 years.She was a member of Hispanic Women for Progress in Big Spring, Texas, was a Girl Scout leader, girls' fast pitch softball coach (U.G.S.A. League in Big Spring, Texas).She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, Washington.Delia is survived by her husband, Thane Hoyte, of the Southworth, Washington family home; parents, Jesus and Guadalupe Ortiz, of Big Spring, Texas; daughter, Dianna Barraza, of Southworth, Washington; sister, Dianna Valdez, of Big Spring, Texas. A funeral mass will be held January 18, 2003 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, Washington. Interment will be held at Fraola Cemetery - also of Port Orchard, Washington.
