Delia Johnston

Delia S. Johnston of Port Orchard, Washington died of natural causes at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard, Washington on June 16, 2004. She was 102. She was born November 10, 1901 in Shelton, Washington to Sever and Olive (Edgebert) Julson. Delia married Gilbert Johnston June 20, 1925 in Olympia, Washington. She attended school in Olympia, Washington. Delia worked as a telephone operator before marriage; then, was a housewife. She enjoyed gardening. Delia is survived by sons - James D. Johnston (& wife, Joanne) of Yakima, Washington, Theodore G. Johnston of Port Orchard, Washington, Tom Johnston (& wife, Mamie) of Sumner, Washington; daughters - Barbara Austin of Allyn, Washington, Virginia J. McDaniel of Maple Valley, Washington; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren & many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: brother - Samual E. Julson, sisters - Doretta Graybeal, Sibyl Brady, Shirley Linton, Mabel Rettig, daughters - Geraldine Fay Johnston (infant) and Shirley Jean Nolen. Inurnment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
