Delores Hovermale

Delores Marie Hovermale, 76, of Port Orchard, WA, died June 5, 2005, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Delores was born April 15, 1929, in Ward County, ND, to Roy and Veronica (Meyers) Ecklund. She married her husband Lloyd C. Hovermale on August 9, 1948, in Ephrata, WA. Lloyd preceded her in death in 2002. Her first love in life was her family, and she especially enjoyed the family gatherings with family and friends. Her great cooking was a hit at these gatherings. She always had a table full of sweets available for anybody and was adopted as "everybody's mom." Delores loved music, especially country, and she could be found doing the two step and swing dance. Another favorite activity was watching her children and grandchildren playing sports. Later in life, Delores learned the enjoyment of playing slots at the casinos around the area. She is survived by her children Carl Hovermale, of Marlin, WA, Steve Hovermale and wife Nancy, of Seabeck, WA, Melvin Hovermale, of Killeen, TX, Dale Hovermale and wife Renee, of Port Orchard, WA, Tim Zimny, of Port Orchard, and Sandy Lovik and husband Brian, of Sekiu, WA; brothers, Don Ecklund and wife Vivian "Tootie", Jerry Ecklund and wife Patty, Gene Ecklund and wife Judy, Laverne "Chub" Ecklund and wife Patience, and John Ecklund and wife Linda, all of Port Orchard; sisters Rosalie Wenholz and husband Bob, of Kalispell, MT, Vickie Fine, of Allyn, WA, and Bonnie Bennett and husband James, of Port Orchard; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Hovermale, son Ronald Lee Hovermale, brother Darvin Ecklund, and sister Elaine Zimny. Viewing will be Thursday, June 9, 10AM to 5PM, Friday, 9AM to 5PM, and Saturday, 9AM to 9:30AM at Rill's Life Tribute Center. A procession will leave the Tribute Center and go to Sunset Lane Memorial Park for a 10:00AM Graveside Committal Service on Saturday, June 11, 2005.
