Deloris Jane Peterson
Passed away on 8/23/19 in the loving arms and comfort of family members
She was born in Canton , Ohio Moved to Port Orchard WA and graduated South Kitsap High School
She married Duane Peterson
She raised all her children and unselfishly lovingly raised other children, in times of need.
She was a dedicated and faithful servant to the Lord by supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren up until the time of her passing
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Port Orchard, WA There she attended services regularly
She was a Sunday school teacher, worked in the nursery and attended bible study classes.
She was an active member of East Port Orchard Elementary School, where she went numerous field trips and was a member of the PTA.
For decades she worked from home babysitting and lovingly caring for children of working families
Her favorite activity was going to Church every Sunday and being of service to her Lord and Savior. She also enjoyed camping with family and picnics at Wye Lake. She enjoyed square dancing, sewing doll clothes, and completing jigsaw puzzles. She was known to go for long walks and enjoyed her faithful dog Pixie.
She is preceded in death by her husband Duane Peterson, BrotherTom, and Sisters Anita, Tina and Gloria.
She is survived by two brothers Mike and Pat, five children, Belinda, Barbie, Liz, Kenny and Jim. Grandchildren; April, Trystin, Becky, Dean, Alyssa, Justin and Logan. Great grandchildren, James, Aryana, Makenzie, Rylie, Payton and Jaxon.
Services will be held at First Christian Church Port Orchard, 4885 SW Hovde Rd, Port Orchard, WA 98367 on September 21, 2019 at 11:00 am reception following after service.
Her favorite statement and mission was the Golden Rule
Luke 6:31
“Do to others as you would have them do to you”.
