Derek Smith

Derek Max Smith, 37, formerly of Port Orchard, died May 20, 2011 in Coleman, FL. Derek Max was born May 16, 1974 in East Ridge, TN to Junior and Joan Smith.   Max was a natural born comedian. Everyone who knew him loved his sense of humor. From the time he was a very young boy he was the constant source of laughter in his family. Max loved his family unconditionally. He was unconventional, inquisitive, and had an adventurous spirit. His passions included drawing, poetry, music and writing songs, reading, sports, fishing, and swimming. Max touched so many lives and souls. He is survived by a son, Zackery Max Smith, of Trenton, GA; mother Joan E. (Kenneth) Marshall, of Port Orchard, WA; father Junior W. (Renee) Smith, of Trenton, GA; brothers Darrin J. Smith, of Port Orchard and Deryl W. Smith, of Everett, WA; sister Freda DeAnn Smith of Suquamish, WA; grandmother Freda Lilly, of Lakeside, AZ; and nieces and nephews Nate Wolfe, Deryl Max Smith, Raina Smith, and Aiyana Smith.
