Don Hanley

December 30, 1943 — July 10, 2007

Don A. Hanley, 63 a resident of Port Orchard, died July 10, 2007 in his home of natural causes. He was born in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Herbert R. and Rose (Schested) Hanley on December 30, 1943. Don graduated from Marlow High School in Marlow, Oklahoma and went to receive a Bachelors Degree. After his tour of duty with the United States Army he became active in Law Enforcement and was a member of the Oklahoma State Patrol retiring in 1997 after 30 years. Don worked for Kitsap County Court Security from 1998 to 2007 and was a member of the Oklahoma State Troopers Retirement Association. He loved his cats Pewee and Peanut who were with Don for twenty years. He enjoyed college football games, good Southern Bar-B-Que and old Country music and loved to garden. His great passion was traveling through the Gulf Coast States. Don is survived by his long time friend and companion, Anita Lopez, they were together for six lovely years. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a Celebration of life will be Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 3:30 pm at Rills Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington.
