Anderson died September 4, 2010. He was born August 30, 1939 in Marshfield, WI to Charles and Ruth Schuh. He grew up there and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, earning an Engineering degree. He spent some years in San Diego and moved to Port Orchard in the 1970s. He worked as an HVAC engineer at PSNS until an auto accident medically retired him in 1984. Don was an active member of Peninsula Fruit Club and enjoyed playing pool at the Bremerton and Port Orchard Senior Centers, but he especially enjoyed gardening and improving his home. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Loretta; a daughter, Erika Ruth Anderson of Minneapolis, MN, whom he raised as a single parent; a grandson, Joseph P. Rudd of Minneapolis; sisters Joan Randall of Sheboygan, WI and Marlene Wipfli of Menominee, MI, plus many nephews and nieces; and in addition, “close enough to be family through love”, Bill and Peggy Simmons and their girls. A memorial celebration will be held at Rill Chapel, 1151 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard on September 14, 2010 at 1:00PM.
