Donald James Boehme

Donald James Boehme, 73, of Port Orchard, died June 8, 2013 at Harrison Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Don passed away with his family by his side. Don was preceded in death by his parents Herman & Lucille and siblings Richard, Marjorie and David. Don was born in Copley, Ohio in 1939.
The family moved to Port Orchard in 1951 and Don graduated from SKHS in 1957. He married Joan Roach in 1961 and was immediately drafted into the Army after returning from their honeymoon. After Completing his service he returned to Port Orchard to resume his logging career. He started his own business in 1977 and worked with his son and grandson until June 8, 2013. He loved the outdoors and when not working he enjoyed his dogs, Buster and Bruno, gardening, boating, fishing, shrimping and John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his wife Joan, son J.D., daughter Janell, grandchildren J.R. & Briyanna and brothers Robert & Jack.
A Celebration of Life will be 4:00pm Friday June 21st at Rill's Life Tribute Center with a casual reception at the family home immediately following. A memorial webpage can be accessed at www.rill.com
