Donald Hansen

March 30, 1914 — August 7, 2008

Donald E. Hansen, 73, died at his home in Bremerton on August 13, 1999.  He was born January 30, 1926 in Rake, Iowa to Enoch & Mabel (Halvorsen) Hansen.  Donald was raised in Rake graduating from Rake High School.  He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Illinois.  Mr. Hansen married Joanne Goudie in Kodiak, Alaska on January 30, 1954.  She preceded him in death on September 21, 1978.Mr. Hansen was an Engineering Technician at Keyport for 22 years, retiring in 1983.  Prior to coming to Bremerton, he worked in Kodiak, Alaska serving a total of 37 years in Federal Civil Service.  He served in the U. S. Army as a Paratrooper and prior to that time, also served for a year in the Merchant Marines.Surviving are his companion Ladora Korb; son Scott Hansen of Rapid City, South Dakota; daughters Debbie Olsen & Diane Eddy, both of Port Orchard; brother Roger Hansen of Issaquah; sisters Ardys Corra of Issaquah, Eleanor Hircko of Fall City, Dar Boni of Issaquah, Dee Bakamus of Renton, and LaDonna Henninger of Oak Harbor; grandchildren Kim & Jessica Olsen; Joanne, Caitlin & Logan Cooper; Derek & Lindsey Hansen.  Donald was preceded in death by brother Loren Hansen in 1991.Memorial Service 1:00 PM Saturday, August 21, 1999 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.  Memorials to Children's Hospital Foundation, P.
