Donald E. Johnson, 69 of Port Orchard, Washington died in Bremerton, Washington on February 1, 2008. He was born September 18, 1938 in Lewistown, Montana to Erwin & Mildred (Russell) Johnson. He graduated from Great Falls High School in Montana in 1956 and Edison Technical School of Electronics in Seattle in 1963. He married Carol S. Dean on December 16, 1988 in Auburn, Washington. Donald retired in 1993 as an Electronics Technican for the Federal Aviation Administration, maintaining all electrical & telephone equipment. He was also Manager of Safety & Hazardous materials for 5 years while at FAA. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1961 as a Radioman 3rd Class on the USS Wilhoite. Donald held a Ham Radio license since age 14. He enjoyed boating, fishing, reading, camping, and was a history buff. He loved the family dog "Bandit". He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary, a volunteer for Federal Way Fire Department, held an Amateur Radio License, & played the violin. Surviving are wife Carol; mother Mildred Johnson of Great Falls, MT; sons Allen Johnson of Sumner, Washington, Jeff (Shelli) Johnson of Port Orchard, Robert (Dana) Johnson of Federal Way, Washington, Kevin (Trisha) Johnson of Bonney Lake, Washington, Dale Brewer of Baird, Texas, & Eric Brewer of Kiehi, Maui; daughter Shelley Hawthorne of Port Orchard; brother James (Theresa) Johnson of Great Falls, Montana; sister Janet (Bill) Wilson of Casa Grande, Arizona; grandchildren Michael, Erin, Heather, Brian, Amber, Andrew, Briteany, Casie, Sarah, Deborah, Clifford & Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Ilexis, Cyrus, Lillian & Serenity. Memorial service at 1:00 pm on February 7, 2008 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
